BenQ to open office
 Taiwan-based IT equipments company BenQ is looking to consolidate its position in the Romanian market. Michael Borze, General Manager for Central Europe, BenQ Austria, said that in the next two months the company will launch an office in Bucharest. "Romania is a principal stake for us in the region, with the most valuable economic growth", Borze said. According to the company officials, the company's turnover in Romania for the first nine months of this year was five million USD. The main distributor of BenQ products in Romania is Tornado Systems, which is looking at a turnover of five million USD this year from sales of BenQ products. The company provides LCD monitors and CRT (cathode ray tube), 'joybooks', video projectors, digital cameras, mobile phones, scanners and optic equipments for storing. The company also intend to enter the mobile market, aiming at the GSM segment. BenQ Corporation, part of BenQ group of firms had a global turnover of three billion USD in 2002 and for this year estimates turnover of four billion USD, Jerry Wang, Deputy Manager, said.
